Toowoomba weddings used to mean a drive. Out to a garden estate, out to a woolshed, out somewhere beautiful that everyone then had to get home from. Lovely days, all of them, and a lot of logistics. Lately more couples are keeping the whole thing in town, and it's worth explaining why that works so well here.
Everything within a block
A city wedding solves the problem that sits behind most wedding spreadsheets, which is moving people around. When the ceremony, the reception and the beds are all on the same street, nobody is organising buses, nobody is counting taxis at midnight, and your interstate guests can walk back to their room when they've had enough.
The rooftop, then the party
Our rooftop ceremony space sits above Ruthven Street with glimpses of the Toowoomba skyline, and it's included in the wedding package. If the weather turns, there's a wet weather back up at Oaks Toowoomba or in Room 1911, so you're never watching the radar all week.
From there the reception moves to Level One, our exclusive use space in the Top Bar. It holds up to 150 guests for a cocktail reception and comes with its own private bar, screens and a dance floor. For a smaller wedding, Room 1911 seats up to 40 for a banquet.
What's included
The wedding package covers the venue and the ceremony location, a night's accommodation at Oaks Toowoomba in a Hotel Executive Room, and a special wedding rate for guests who want to stay. On the day you get an event coordinator, set up and pack down, all the tables, chairs, linen, crockery and glassware, easels for signage, a cake table and knife, a wishing well, your cake cut and served, plus the sound system, microphones and screens.
The food
Choose canapés, a grazing table, a seated menu or a mix. Our chefs build the menu around what you actually want to eat, and we'll work through dietaries with you rather than asking on the night. If you feel like something less traditional, the pack has a few ideas, from a burrata bar to a late night doughnut wall.
